Yep, it's the only game in town that I know of if a person wants their freedom back.
.
A great interview, Adam. You really lay out some practical steps to work towards self governance; or voluntary governance to use your more Libratarian term. 🖒
This host, "Radio Freedom", seems to need some clarity on anarchy. What really should be addressed is that most of the way all of us live currently is through anarchist/voluntarist interactions. We don't force the gas station to pump our gas and drive away. We don't go to the grocery store and steal all the food. We don't force businesses to give us free stuff. We interact with all of the everyday people voluntarily, peacefully, and we are usually happy to conduct our business with friendly social behaviors.
The only difference with how we live now, and the anarchy/voluntary way is: Taxation is theft, use of force is violent, and being a "government official" doesn't provide exception to these rules.
Yes, rules of social human behavior don't change, you are better off interacting in a nonviolent way, it keeps you part of the social network with friends, partners, and provides more opportunity for you to prosper.
The only way for government to rule is by force, unless taxation is voluntary. Lets end the violence.
Honestly, I don't know what gave you the idea that I was unclear on any of that.
9:20 - But. You stated there wasn't enough support for anarchism, and that we can not live as anarchists while we are being ruled over.
24:20 - But. You stated that people you talk to, argue/advocate the need for government.
46:15 - You do a great Obama impression.
If you feel like you understand voluntarism is possible you certainly did not seem very optimistic about it. Like Adam is saying there will still be government, just they wont be able to steal from people, and eventually we will find better places to spend our money in a more effective way to protect people from aggression/aggressive, violent, coercive situations. Most of which are caused by government theft/tax.
You're right, I'm not too optimistic about voluntarism, I love the idea but I don't think we will have a voluntarist society in my lifetime.
Yeah, and the main reason is that individual liberty lovers, who are also willing to accept the individual responsibility that goes along with individual liberty, are greatly out numbered by collectivists.
There are two groups of people. One group wants to control others for certain reasons, and the other group doesn't want to control anyone for any reason. I do not wish to control anyone for any reason.
The difference between government and governance is that the first is protected by double standards under the law. They rule over everyone else. Government is not required anymore than tyrants are.
Voluntaryists seek governance without government and rules without rulers. There would still be leaders people followed voluntarily too. The key is impartiality under the law and everyone consenting. Why is that too much to ask? It's because most people want to control other people.
No thanks! I'll pass.
Things change faster than you think. Did you ever think Liberland would exist in your lifetime?
I like what Adam said about the FED debt. The whole thing is a scam anyway. No reason to honor being cheated.
Highly rEsteemed!
