This passion was renewed several years ago on The Wolverine, before the filmmaker passes the hand to the surprising James Mangold.

It remains that after two abortive attempts, Aronofsky seems obstinately interested in the idea of ​​staging a hero in a cape. Recently questioned as part of the promotion of Mother, his horrifying essay sawtooth, the director talks about dressing Superman with his own colors, and if it was possible to make a feature film about the man of steel .

"I mean, you know, Superman would still be interesting, but they're already reinventing it intensively, so I do not think it's going to happen for a moment.

Earlier in the year, the director spoke about Hollywood's obsession with big-budget films with maximized profitability, with an interesting insight into the evolution of the superhero movie.

"I think we are already ahead of our time, and I tend to say" why not make a film with a smaller budget and aim for a R rating? "As in comics, there are different labels. And they're finally starting to do it, they're doing spin-offs, which is great, it's an exciting time, because they're capable of taking more risks, and we're not going to see the same super- heroes again and again. "

Interestingly, the author does not seem to have renounced the idea of ​​offering his own contribution to the repertoire of the hero in costume, and as he himself emphasizes, while Warner Bros. begins to understand the interest of returning to a semi-author auteur cinema and that Marvel Studios goes out to seek talents in the indie 'on another scale, perhaps it would not be silly to imagine an Aronofsky at orders his own franchise film within a few years.

For now, Warner's eyes would rather be turned to a certain Matthew Vaughn, and one can already start betting on the feasibility of the project if the new Kingsman confirms the director as a bankable choice in modern entertainment cinema.
