I like where your'e coming from and what you said "A clear minded person should be able to figure out what's real news and what's not real news". I'm going to go one level deeper. Humans are hard-wired to go with the crowd, unfortunate but true. Behaviourists and physiologists know this; almost all information is twisted and spun to achieve a desired outcome. Having a clear mind is to fully understand the motivation behind the message. Having a clear mind is to challenge your own belief system in a measured, objective, and unselfish manner.
