It's funny how people always run to communism or fascism during hard times. reminds me of the Democratic peace theory, where no two democracies have ever started a war with each other because they're often so intertwined economically, so when you see the west steer towards fascism and the east towards communism, all barriers to war and proxy wars are gone, and the people can't do shit all about it.
