Interesting Content Series #1: Microsoft Using Bitcoin for Idenfitication?

Similarly to my Random Tip Series, in my interesting content series I will be posting links and often summaries of content that I find interesting and that you will probably as well (though none of the content will be created by me. It will likely be dominated by news and videos.

So, as odd as the title sounded, it's actually not clickbait.

Apparently Microsoft is heavily considering using Bitcoin keys as a means of "decentralized identification" (for use in signing into your account and such); likely in a technologically similar fashion as when people sign messages using their Bitcoin address to 'prove' their identity.

Defiantly a novel concept, though I don't know how effective it would be. Remember, they'd still have access to their servers which would include the content of your account (emails and such); and losing your keys would mean you may lose access to your account. Still though, this seems interesting to see play out.
