Netflix has announced the termination of cooperation with Spacey. Spacey played the lead in House of Cards in the past five seasons and was involved as a producer in the program. Also, the movie 'Gore' that Spacey produced on behalf of Netflix and in which he plays remains on the shelf.

In recent days, there were several testimonies against Spacey, which in the past would have shown undesirable behavior. Yesterday the British police opened an official investigation against the actor. The unwanted intimacies would also have taken place on the set of House of Cards.

Eight current and former employees of the series testified that Spacey provided a "toxic work environment" through a "pattern of unwanted intimacies". He focused on young men, who he unwittingly touched.

Various options

Netflix announced Tuesday to shut down the production of the sixth and last season indefinitely. Meanwhile, it was decided to end the cooperation. The producers are now investigating how to proceed with the series. According to Variety.com, various options are on the table.

They can proceed without the character of Kevin Spacey. The last season of the series would only turn around Claire (played by Robin Wright), the wife of Spacey's character Frank Underwood.

How Frank Underwood would be written out of the series - would he die or suddenly disappear - is not clear at all.
Continuing with Spacey is as good as impossible for producer Media Rights Capital. But cancelling the series is not an option. In the series, there are 300 actors and crew members who would lose their job.
