I need to watch out not to go into auto-pilot mode as I felt this was somewhat the case in the European Mid-Week matches. The good thing however is that I'm very much aware of these things so in the worst case I will scale back my bets a bit. I am looking forward to what now is week 8 already with as usual 1 match on Friday.
Sint-Truiden vs Standard
Sint-Truiden so far has shown some good things but the main thing they are missing is actual scoring power. with only 6 goals scored in te first 7 matches. They however continue to be well organized and also only took 6 goals against them. Last week they put up a solid performance neutralizing Racing Genk in what ended in a deserved 0-0 draw. They are now 10th in the standings after 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 games which is an equal amount of points to Standard who are 9th . They are coming off 1-0 wins against Kortrijk which was deserved based on their fighting spirit and at home against Oostende where it could have gone both ways. The general view I have is that they lack quality and have to make up for that with mentality which only will go that far. I see them as generously rewarded for what they put on the pitch so far and am looking for potential spots to oppose them. The minimum price I need in order to do this today is Stvv +0 @ 1.700 while right now it's at 1.600. I did put an 0.25 unit order in at the 1.7 price and also a 0.15 unit order at a 1.8 price. The big question is where the goals are going to come from as the only player from Stvv who can come up with a surprising action is Koita who lately starts on the bench. I did take just a 0.1 unit bet on
Under 2.5 @ 1.890. Standard has not lost a corners matchup in their last 5 games while Stvv still has to win a corners matchup at home by more than 1. I see this more even than the odds suggest and took 0.16 units on
