Crypto News Flash #167: Now Book Your Flight Tickets With Ripple (XRP) & Litecoin (LTC) !!

Blockchain Technology & Cryptocurrencies are doing some extra-ordinary things in our lives. While they have made our payments and transfers cheap already, they're expanding their reach to acquire more niches in which they could make our lives easier. 

At present, we can use cryptocurrencies for making payments across the globe without any centralized authority, we can even do shopping at some online/offline stores using cryptocurrencies. But what if we can book our flights tickets using crypto?

Well, this has made into reality by TapJets.

Tapjets is an American-based aviation company which will add some cryptocurrencies in its payment system in order to make its passengers lives easier. 

TapJets is planning to add Ripple (XRP) and Litecoin (LTC) to its payments method while booking Flight tickets online or offline. Actually, back on 15th May, TapJets launched a Twitter poll asking the crypto community that which cryptos should be added on their platform as a payment method.

There were three choices as you can see in above picture and clearly Ripple (XRP) turned out to be the absolute winner. 

The poll accumulated a serious interests by the crypto community and more than 57,000 people voted on it. Ripple (XRP) turned out to be the absolute winner with 44% vote while Litecoin (LTC) got 35% voting in the poll. 

Now, the company is looking forward to set-up both the cryptos on their Payment channels. 

Although, as per the source, the Tapjets team stated that :

Some of this activity would depend on how agile development teams of XRP/LTC are to our requests. It is our goal to allow TapJets clients to use these alt-coins on June 1, 2018. We have been in contact with LTC team already and will be reaching out to XRP team on Monday.

Now, with the mainstream flight company accepting payments in cryptocurrencies, the days are not far when we can see widespread of cryptocurrencies all over the world. 

Let's hope this move by TapJets will bear fruits.
