SUNDAY SCHOOL ELDERS WORKSHOP

The workshop started in the presence of all 16 Sunday school elders and 8 teachers from the 4 congregations that make up the Ntaghem Parish Sunday School Association (NTAGHEM PASUSA). All the head teachers also answered present. This Sunday school elder’s workshop took place at P.C. Ntaghem – Bamenda on Saturday 28th July 2018 organized by the Parish Executives of Ntaghem Parish.
The parish secretary brother Biyeh Brandulph received and settled down all participants and furthermore carryout orientation for the training. The next was meditations which started with series of choruses and a prayer from parish pastor of Ntaghem parish; Rev Wirkuu Genesis. He presented the meditation by drawing inspiration from the apostle of Mark, elaborating on the fact that one to enter in to the kingdom of God he must be like the little children. He further more expatiate on the presentation of the Sunday school liturgy.
Next was the Organization of the Sunday School which was presented by Bro Etomes Marcel; the Head Teacher of Ntahkekah. He explain the organigram beginning from the Synod right down to where the Sunday school is found at each stage by also giving the ruling body at each hierarchy level.

The presentation “a good Sunday School Elder” was given by sis Ndofor Beckline Fawah who is the superintendent of the Ntaghem Parish. She is the main organizer of this workshop. She went further addressing the elders to be God fearing, always dress decently and be presentable.
At this time the “Boom and Numbering game” were chosen by participants to animate the audience and later come another game that was introduce by the coordinator of games brother Biyeh Brandulph. He ask question to one person from the Bible, and if he or she does not know then another person comes up and the person who ask the question will answer.
Furthermore “Talent Discovery and Management” which was taught by Bro Menkemndi Randy. He explain the different talents we have as well as the different ways we could discover the talents then exploit. Additionally, he told elders to be grateful, cheerful, careful not fall in to the temptation of occultism.
Brother Brandulph came up again on “Christian Leadership” which he talk on leadership in Sunday school and that elders should live an exemplary life for God to show them the right path to follow.

Child Psychology came up as the last presentation of the day. This was done by Brother Etomes Marcel explaining that the Elders should study the children’s behaviors and characters they are leading. He emphasize on the Elders to be calm when taking decisions as well as having concern for the kids; loving, friendly, caring and open to the children we teach.
Appreciations were given by all the 4 head teachers of the congregations that make up the parish “this workshop is first of its kind in the parish and we hope it should be a yearly program” they said. The superintendent herself concluded by a closing remark and finally a word of prayer by Bro Menkemndi Randy.
