Public schools in New Jersey closed due to the threat of shooting

On Monday, March 5, public schools in the city of Beyonc (New Jersey) will not open due to threats posted on social networks.

  Initially, it was assumed that schools would operate normally, and their security would be provided by police, but later law enforcement authorities in Hudson County deemed it expedient to suspend the work of educational institutions.  Information about this was posted this morning on the official website of the Beyonne School District.

 "The Beyonne School District received a Twitter message on Thursday about threats to shoot at local schools," said Michael Vanko, the superintendent of the school district.  "At the moment, the police department of Beyonne has not yet established the reality of the threats, because Mayor Davis contacted me today at 6.40 and said that for security reasons it was decided to close all the schools of the district on Monday."

 As Bayonne Mayor James Davis noted on his Facebook page, the decision to close schools was taken solely "out of precaution."  The head of the city also promised to inform the community as new data were received.

 "Such provocations always cause anxiety among parents, students and school personnel, and even if they are not always real, this can not be ignored," Michael Vanko said.
