The competition between Alexa and Google Assistant is hardening

in #news7 years ago

It seems that the company Amazon banned developers of applications Alexa, use the word "Google" in Alexa, as reported by TechCrunch.

Competing for the primacy of their products in the market, the two giant Amazon and Google reach absurd methods of struggle, from which the users begin to suffer.

One of the developers Alexa accidentally found an error, requesting a voice command in the application c using the word "Google". The team was rejected.

This raises the suspicion that Amazon has included in the code a ban on recognizing the name of a competitor so that their voice assistant can not mention it in any way. Accordingly, you can not say "Google" in the Alexa application. This can bring a lot of inconvenience. If the user gives a "OK Google" request, Alexa will reject the command.

Of course, for Amazon, it makes sense not to remind you of a competitor in your own product. But at the same time, this bug would cause confusion among customers.

After testing Alexa, Amazon apparently decided not to go for such measures. It's clear that it was for the purpose of prohibiting reminders of Alexa users about Google Home.
