Zikra arrested in Seelampur murder case: Revenge for 2024 feud?
Seelampur murder case accused Zikra, also known as "Lady Don", was sent to two days of police custody after she made startling revelations about the murder of a 17-year-old boy named Kunal. According to the police, Zikra and her cousin Sahil were involved in the murder, which they claim was done to avenge an old attack on Sahil in November 2023, allegedly carried out by Kunal's friends Lala and Shambhu. Zikra was arrested and sent to police custody after being linked to the murder. She was reportedly preparing a group of eight to ten minor boys to form her own gang and was using these minor boys to threaten locals and establish her dominance in the Seelampur area. Before Kunal's murder, Zikra had instructed her minor gang members to conduct a reconnaissance of Kunal's movements. Once they confirmed that Kunal was leaving the GTB hospital, Zikra formed her own group. Sahil and Dilshad then attacked Kunal with knives, killing him. The police are further investigating the case to trace the rest of the accused and understand the full extent of the criminal network operated by Zikra. Ten dedicated teams have been deployed by the Delhi Police to trace the other accused and CCTV footage is being actively analysed to trace escape routes and conduct raids across the city. Zikra's notoriety stems from her criminal past; she is a resident of Seelampur and was recently released from jail for violations under the Arms Act. She previously worked as a bouncer for Zoya, the wife of jailed gangster Hashim Baba. Reports suggest that Zikra was trying to form her own gang after Zoya was jailed in a drug-related case, which could have escalated tensions in the area. In a significant development, the police have arrested a total of seven people, including prime accused Zikra, Sahil and Dilshad. Several minors have also been detained in connection with the crime. Zikra has made several key revelations during interrogation, alleging that she got Kunal attacked to avenge an earlier attack on her cousin Sahil. The victim's mother has expressed her disappointment and concern, claiming that she has not received any updates from law enforcement and alleged that the authorities are unwittingly helping the suspects escape. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has publicly addressed the incident, and assured the public that justice will be done in Kunal's death case.
Zikra's obsession with weapons was no secret; she often uploaded pictures and videos with guns and was even arrested under the Arms Act for this. The police are also looking for a man named Lala, who stabbed and injured one of the accused boys last November. The police suspect that the murder was a revenge related to the dispute.
The court has sent Zikra to two-day police custody to help trace the other accused and recover the weapon used in the crime. Advocate Abdul Ghaffar, appearing for Zikra, denied the allegations and opposed the request for police custody, arguing that the police had not disclosed the identity of the witnesses and claimed that Zikra was made to sign blank documents.
In short, Zikra's arrest and remand in police custody has thrown light on the complex criminal network and the vindictive motive behind Kunal's murder. The ongoing investigation aims to unearth the full extent of the crime and provide justice to the victim's family.
