The hypocrisy here is beyond belief but not surprising to me in the least. The benefits of cannabis have been known for centuries, but as we know, they cannot patent a natural plant. Big pharma has played this game for far too long now and it is known that more often than not the synthesised versions of substances they produce do not work as well as the natural and are often harmful to the individual hence the long lists of side effects from synthesised drugs (sorry, I do not have sources to hand but I have read many studies on this). Yet, despite this, Big pharma continues with its crimes to line their own pockets and those of their shareholders, allowing their hypocrisy to bleed down to even the doctors who prescribe these synthesised poisons.
