I think the same as you: I really don't get the big deal about not allowing these people to give back to society while they are serving their time letting them do what they can to reach out and help...
I guess some people view being able to help and contribute to society is a privileged not a right and the whole idea of punishment is being cut off from society. In my opinion keeping with attitudes like that then there is really no hope of true rehabilitation. Only in America, eh?
