On Sunday New York city reported zero new deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first time in four months.

New York city has reported a total of 215,924 cases and 18,670 deaths due to the Coronavirus, according to the city data updated on Sunday afternoon. New York city has recorded highest number of deaths on April 7 that is 597 deaths due to virus.

As New York and other parts of the North East make progress on containing the Coronavirus outbreak, the virus has surged in other parts of the country, mainly in the South and West.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo warned in a radio interview on Friday that rising cases in other parts of the country could lead to the Coronavirus once again increasing in New York City.

Governor also added in the radio interview, You're going to see our numbers and the North East cases probably start to rise because the Coronavirus the you see now in the West and the South - California has real trouble - it's going to come back here. It's like being on a merry-go-round. It's totally predictable. And we're going to go through an increase in cases. I can feel the Coronavirus is coming. And it is so unnecessary and cruel.
