Want To Use Virtual Reality To Train For Bear Attacks? Now You Can.

While it’s statistically impossible for there to be a software application for every possible task, apps are getting more and more specialized by the day.
Most recently, a company called VR Training Solutions has created a virtual reality experience that helps users train for what to do in case they should be attacked by a bear.
And though this app is unlikely to be a huge hit with the mainstream VR community, it provides a valuable service for people who may find themselves belly to belly with one of the fiercest creatures on earth.
Most wilderness training teaches only a few things regarding bear training. If it’s a black bear, you’re supposed to make yourself look big and make a lot of noise. If it’s a brown bear, you’re supposed to lie down and play dead. Those are simple concepts to grasp from behind a computer screen, but many people completely forget their training in the heat of the moment with potentially deadly consequences.
Dan Le Grandeur of Bear Scare Inc had this to say about the project:
“This is as real as it gets without being attacked. It is the most effective training tool I’ve seen. I definitely want to add this to our bear safety training programs.
“Through the physical action within the VR, users are truly learning in an exciting, realistic environment. While wearing virtual reality goggles, the user is transported to a digital forest where the software simulates a bear encounter in the woods.”
Here at Lucyd, we believe that virtual and augmented reality programs like this are the future of advanced training protocols. Militaries and police forces around the world are already using VR/AR to prepare their officers for unpredictable situations by using lifelike scenarios like this one.
This poses an interesting question: will the future be a place where virtual reality gamers are prepared to deal with high-pressure situations requiring quick thinking as a result from their extensive gaming experience? Generally when one thinks of a gamer, the image that comes to mind isn’t necessarily of someone who is physically active and equipped to deal with the unpredictable stress of the real world
But as virtual reality simulations like these become more prevalent, we could see all that change very soon.
What do you think about this virtual reality bear simulation? Let us know in a comment!

The Lucyd eShop will launch July 31st, 2018. We aim to build a fun, convenient storefront where you can order the world’s most advanced eyewear. Not only will the eShop carry Lucyd Lens and other products we develop, we spent a lot of effort finding the best frame styles and technologies out there for our future customers. We want Lucyd to be the place to order smart and standard spectacles, with a wide selection of futuristic frames. Best of all, it will be the first place in the world where you can order prescription eyewear for crypto! BTC and ETH will be accepted at first. The Lucyd eShop will ship worldwide and guarantee every pair of specs it sells.
LCD tokens will be used as the rewards points for the eShop, in addition to previously planned utilities in P2P token transfers between smartglasses.
Part of the vision for the eShop is that we recognize the need for customization for smartglasses — they are not a one-size-fits-all product. The eShop will offer a range of personalization options, including various colors for most frames, and a number of different lens configurations.
We are on schedule to deliver the beta Lucyd Lens AR smartglass early next year. Remember, you will need to have purchased 5000 LCD during the ICO to participate in the beta.
Meet us there or shoot us an email anytime at info@Lucyd.co! If you have not received tokens from the ICO be sure to reach out! Don’t forget, LCD is now purchasable on idex.market/eth/lcd so get yours today. We have a handy tutorial for using IDEX on our Youtube:
