আয়ু বাড়িয়ে দেবে এই পাঁচটি কাজ
লম্বা জীবনের রহস্য কী? সুস্থ জীবনযাপন? নাকি ব্যাপারটা বংশগত? যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের একটি গবেষণায় দাবি করা হয়, জীবনযাপনে মাত্র পাঁচটি পরিবর্তন আনতে হবে আয়ু বাড়াতে। ৫০ বছর বয়সের পর এই পাঁচটি কাজের অভ্যাস করলে নারীর আয়ু ১৪ বছর এবং পুরুষের বয়স ১২ বছর বাড়তে পারে।
অনেকের কাছেই এই পাঁচটি কাজকে খুবই সাধারণ মনে হবে। কিন্তু এসব কাজের ফলাফল মোটেই সাধারণ নয়। পাঁচটি কাজ হলো-
১) স্বাস্থ্যকর খাদ্যভ্যাস
২) ধূমপান বর্জন
৩) নিয়মিত শরীরচর্চা
৪) ওজন নিয়ন্ত্রণ
৫) পরিমিত মাত্রায় অ্যালকোহল সেবন
বেশিরভাগ মানুষই জানেন এ কাজগুলো মানুষের স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য উপকারী। কিন্তু এসব কাজের অভ্যাস বজায় রাখতে পারেন না সবাই, ফলে তাদের আয়ু কমে। গবেষণার লেখকরা জানিয়েছেন, অন্যান্য উচ্চ-আয়ের দেশগুলোর নাগরিকের তুলনায় আমেরিকানদের আয়ু কম, কারণ তারা এসব অভ্যাস ধরে রাখতে পারে না।
শরীরের ওজন এবং উচ্চতার অনুপাত, বিএমআই রাখতে বলা হয় ১৮.৫ এবং ২৪.৯ এর মাঝে। নিয়মিত শরীরচর্চা বলতে বোঝানো হয়, দৈনিক ৩০ মিনিট বা তারও বেশি শরীরচর্চা (যেমন জোরে হাঁটা)। অ্যালকোহল সেবনের মাত্রা দেওয়া হয় নারীর জন্য দৈনিক ৫-১৫ গ্রাম এবং পুরুষের জন্য ৫-৩০ গ্রাম।
