Another Xiaomi phone caught fire in China. This time it's a Redmi Note 7 Pro. According to one user, the phone he bought for his father and which he used for more than three months suddenly burned down and caught fire. He lodged a complaint on November 27, and the phone was purchased on July 24.
According to the report by authorities, problems with the phone appeared during the night, and the user's father was awakened by the strong burning smell that was spreading in the room. When he started looking for the source, he realized that his smartphone was on fire. Fortunately, there was no major damage other than the cell phone that was completely destroyed.

A Xiaomi spokesman said the device was listed as having "an issue independent of phone quality" and that the incident was caused by external factors, without any connection to the manufacturer. This is the second case in which an Xiaomi smartphone fires during use. The first was a Redmi Note 7S, after only one month of use.
