People in South Africa protesting because of "coolest kid" ad.
4 days ago I wrote what I think about H&M's "coolest monkey" hoodie story and racism generally. Today I saw news, in South Africa, H&M closed several stores, because of protests over "coolest monkey" story, leaded by members of the Economic Freedom Fighters.
The New York Times writes: "Videos and photos of the gatherings showed people demonstrating outside or marching through a store. Others showed people toppling mannequins, overturning racks and scattering clothes."

Finnaly, I found what the mother of model kid thinks about it.
She writes "Am the mum and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modelled. Stop crying wolf all the time, unnecessary issue... get over it."

What I think?
As I said before, people just like to overreact. Everyone likes to complain about everything and if we see even a small opportunity, we will do everything we can, to get "world" attention. In this case, people found a way through the "coolest kid in jungle" ad. Well...proteters got, what they wanted (attention) , but the question is, what happens next? And I am pretty sure...nothing. In 3 days majority of people have forgotten the story, because there is another "cool" one. And what the protesters got from all the noise they made...Nothing, except more fragmented society and anger of the kid's mother...
