Will the real steemit whales please upvote

Please don't damage rep for the lame title, it's all in good fun. This is a public service announcement I felt there was a need to publish.
Recently I've noticed a few people have claimed to have been abused by whales damaging their rep to -6. They were asking if people could upvote them so they could have their rep back. Some were making a few thousand steam dollars in this process.
Though I believe the first person, and maybe 1 or 2 others had this happen, I find it hard to believe all of these people had this happen to them around the same time.
The purpose of this public service announcement is to hopefully help the community be aware there are steam cons on here so please beware. The generosity of this community is a wonderful quality, but be sure you aren't being exploited.
