RE: Illusion Of Democracy, More Money To Israel, Trade War To Real War, US Arms Trade & Deforestation (Article)
I appreciate your lucid commentary on these events. You mentioned the 6th extinction, which is ongoing, and I also could not feel more urgency regarding the need to immediately mitigate the forces impelling it. I recently posted regarding an 85% decline in Red-Legged Partridge in France in a decade, and such beneficial and common species being decimated by standard agricultural practices demonstrates the unsuitability of standard agricultural practices.
It is the financial structure of agriculture as an industry; the overwhelming dominance of megacorporations such as Monsanto and Cargill, that is the root cause of the toxicity of the industry, and powerfully incentivizes things like urban agriculture and aquaponics to resolve the issue. I hope such mitigations virally escalate without delay.
Regarding AMLO (Mexico's new President) urging Mexicans to 'storm the US' I believe this isn't a current policy statement, but rather an observation made prior to his election, when the unavoidable corruption in Mexico seemed avoidable by emigration to the US (despite our corruption). I do hope I am correct about that, as I agree that were his current policy, it would be highly problematic.
Thanks!
