Very true. One thing I would add is that in some of the places that are being bombed, there are no such things as true civilians. Their women and even children are trained to be violent militants and/or voluntarily allow the violent militants to hide among them.
I recall viet nam...where little children carried bombs. "Go see the nice GI..."...then boom.
It tends to make you a bit paranoid.
