Buying into an NFT project post-mint? Here's how to speculate a possible Blue Chip

Just look for buzz, hype or glitzy headlines and go buy, buy, buy!! Oh come on, ain't that buying under the influence of FOMO?

Alrighty, you're right, you'll have to do a bit of that dreaded DYOR too!

Here's what I think helps speculate which project could blue chip and fly to the moon. I'll explain this using one of my best examples so far, Arabian Camels. The mint had closed months ago and I hadn't heard about it or might have missed it with the flurry of PFP projects flooding the space.

So there I was Googling the Melania Trump NFT release headline on CoinTelegraph and the piece came packaged with a couple of other headlines. There was a first-time-in-history story about an NFT project that's about to disrupt the film industry.

YES, I right click saved the JPEG, but whatever, its mine! What I paid for is on Opensea thoughIt was something I hadn't heard of, so it piqued my interest. That's where the DYOR campaign began, with the power of Google and a pint of curiosity. I was looking for the following:

1. Community
   I've learnt that community is what drives NFT projects to success. I had to snoop around the Discord. With Arabian Camels, it was just right, is what I felt. The member numbers weren't through the roof and for me, I see that as something good because at least you get to read the chat without having to hold the scroll bar steady, as in some busy servers. What I liked more was that the engagements were just perfect. There were always members being responsive and engaging pretty much all the time.

2. Innovative utilty (apart from the hype and fanfare)
   The next thing was to get on the website and see what was or is brewing for the future. The mint was over and the website was updated but there were still some superb videos on the future of the project.

3. Opensea profile
   Then there's the usual Opensea checks that require a full article to be written on. Some of these factors include if the collection is verified, price performance, floor price changes since mint, rarities and unique properties of the NFTs up for sale. You'll also have to look around to see if there are listings that fit your budget.

I prefer to keep my pieces short and to the point. I think it's important since we all have more JPEGs to find, crypto to print or other fiat stuff to do.
