Outside, a light drizzle falls, with scarcely anyone on the streets; only a few solitary umbrellas drift slowly. On my phone screen, news of Ethereum's sharp decline flashes, and my account balance has dwindled to three digits. The desolation outside mirrors my own downfall.

I refuse to accept this. Why have I failed so miserably?
From a small-town exam champion to admission at Wuhan University, then a graduate student at the University of Hong Kong, I diligently worked hard at every stage. Yet now, I have lost it all.

Last year, I quit my job and plunged into the crypto world with 200,000 yuan saved over eighteen months. Initially, everything seemed promising. Daily market monitoring, project research, and trend analysis felt liberating compared to employment, as I was working for myself. During that period, I earned some profits and connected with a group of friends to share opportunities and enjoy leisure time.

From the start to the end of the year, my performance was strong, accumulating over a million yuan, but I never withdrew any funds. By December, I lost my rhythm in the market's competitive dynamics and predicted a surge in altcoins, leading me to bottom-fish BOME. I dreamed of replicating last year's PEPE miracle, buying from 0.008 down to 0.003, but this morning's crash liquidated my position. My leverage was actually moderate, below 3x.

I bet everything, yet still lost it all.

What's even more ironic is that I convinced my parents to bottom-fish with me, purchasing $bome from 0.004 down to 0.003, and as of today, it has nearly halved. I could bear my own losses, but dragging my parents down—I truly feel like a failure. Sigh.

This New Year feels like sitting on pins and needles; every time I open the exchange, I see my account dwindling. Explaining my work to relatives and friends feels feeble; despite daily exhaustion, I haven't earned money, life is tough, and relatives mock me, saying, "Studied so much but still no stable job."

I genuinely wonder, who can still profit from trading? Coins that dropped 5x then fall another 4x, plummeting 4-5x upon listing? Under such conditions, does anyone truly make money?

Right now, my emotions are complex—unwilling yet confused and lost. I feel I've tried hard, but the results always betray me. The goals that once ignited my passion now seem like rain-soaked paper, blurred and directionless. I don't know where to go next, or if I can rise again.
