I PLEDGE TO NIGERIA, MY COUNTRY

in #nigeria7 years ago
The National Pledge
I pledge to Nigeria, my country
To be faithful, loyal, and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity......

About 8 out of 10 Nigerians have once or the other made this pledge above.

Even we the Biafra agitators had already committed themselves to the same promise, at least in primary or secondary school.

But the actions of Nigerians now are totally contrary to the same commitment.

My people, My heart beats more for the igbos. An average igbo man is blessed with ideas, strength, creativity, courage, and so on. But insecurity has always been the problem; insecurity with his fellow brother.

The issue with the South-East is not the question of marginalization, because if an igbo man who traveled north could survive the cultural practices, pressures and crises of northerners over time and still live, then the Igbo community can stand alone, love each other and build the south-east to their liking.

The fight for Biafra is not the solution to the condition of the igbo community.

You wait for Biafra's independence to see the real catastrophe among the igbos (struggle for power, money, land, etc.). But no need because Nigeria has to be together and no matter who agitate, peace will always have its ground in the end. The hope of the Igbo generation lies in the good and right mental awakening of the youth of the igbo community. Until an average young Igbo man learn to:

1. Love his brother without any feeling of insecurity

2. Become selfless to the productive development of the Igbo community starting from wherever he finds himself in Southeast.

3. Avoiding deception and extortion

4. Avoid greed and self-centeredness

5. Look beyond the ambitious and mentality of trying to prove a point; until our love, passion, and intention are directed towards a common OBJECTIVE, we will only be deceiving only ourselves.

Happy Independence Day celebration. Good one

Happy independence day

Impressive write Up Evelyn.

Let love lead. And together we shall build Nigeria into a better place. Meanwhile, on the issue of Biafra ,I begin to wonder, in what way would they survive after disintegration? What is the fate of Biafrans without the South Eastern Governors and neighbors states' support ?
To proffer solutions to this, a matter of war will not do. Its a matter of negotiation, dialogue and transparency.

I support your 5 point solution.

Nice Work Evelyn
