Hustle: Trait of a typical Nigerian

As an average Nigerian child, one of the things you hear is "work hard so you can be successful". This statement has gone a long way in influencing the attitude of a typical Nigerian in his work ethic.

Looking at the streets of Lagos, Abuja, Kano bad other major cities in Nigeria you discover one thing. Everybody is doing one thing or the other to survive.

The hustle spirit is so visible. Everybody wants to be busy with something. Recently, I got talking with a lady who was fresh out of secondary school. I asked her what her plan was while awaiting admission into a higher institution. Her answer was 'I want to get a job'. A couple of years back, most people who just graduated from secondary school would just while away the time doing practically nothing.

The prevailing economic situation has gone a long way in even increasing the spirit of hustle in Nigeria. Our core motto has become succes. An average Nigerian is willing to learn just to make sure he is successful and rich.

I must say in this nation, being successful and being rich are two different things. Being successful entails attaining certain levels in a given field. On the other hand being rich involved having financial capacity.

In the typical Nigerian society that I know, success is attributed to having financial capacity. In simple words 'money gives you a voice'.

It is the money that drives an average Nigerian to hustle. This spirit has enabled a huge number of Nigerians within and outside this country to break boundaries in various fields.

We are indeed a blessed nation. Let us keep the Hustle spirit alive!
