Back in the 90s street fighter owned the world
it was such a hit that any franchise that could come up for a reason to have a fighting game
would have one!

THEY HAD BALLZ FIGHTING!!!
Even shaq got in on the action

so honestly why would NINJA turtles be any different?
a game full of mutant interdimentional ninjas
SCREAMS FOR A GAME LIKE THIS!!

now there are three different versions of this game
but i want to focus on just one specific release
the super nintendo version
now we will cover the other ones in the future you have my word

but lets talk story

Kara shredders daughter KIDNAPPED APRIL AND SPLINTER AND ITS UP TO YOU TO SAVE THEM
DURING THIS INSANE TOURNAMENT FIGHTER

RIGHT away the thing that makes me laugh is Aprils dialogue!
it sounds like a meek mill song
like she is trying to catch her breath

The thing that stood out to me the most was the fighters and how not awesome they are.

If this is your first time playing this game I want you to close yo eyes
and imagine imagine an arcade style tournament fighter when you could fight as rocksteady or
as bebop maybe even casey jones!!
well too bad because this is not that game!
sadly the only character that i can remember is this robot and shredder except this dude is cyber shredder.

Its not like they could not use the likenesses or the rights
I see baxter stock man, i see rocksteady, i see bebop, i see kc jones
HELL THEY EVEN HAVE THE BROKEN CAR FROM TMNT 2 THE ARCADE GAME

TRUST ME THATS IT Im pretty good with faces

NOW instead of April we have this chick

instead of this dinosaur they could have had the silver foot ninja with the sword

You can even see them in the back ground so its not like they took the day off
even foot ninja Kanye is in the background.

Speaking of background other than the music THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE GAME!!

lets be honest this roof top level is the coolest one!
except for this mutagen billboard
why would you drink mutagen? (drink a bright green drink)

One thing about me is I love rooftop levels
marvel vs capcom
mortal combat
street fighter/smash
injustice

hmmmmm

now the game does look amazing as you can see but the animation does feel choppy
I’m talking a good 20 frames per second choppy

but the most important thing

if only it played as good as it looks

while all your basic street fighter moves and styles are here kinda
they don’t deliver the same thrill kinda
this robot even tries to do the stretchy thing like dualism kinda
he also can blow up uppy like Geodude but that also comes with a kinda

the shoulder buttons don’t do anything
and you only have two forms of attacks
leaving your combo command lonely and missing something

the fighters also feel stiff i guess you could blame it on that 8 framers per second animation stuff
i was talking about!

The game does have three modes for variety we have a vs your awesome an arcade mode and a story mode but as hard as i tried i did not get far on story mode and while it does have dialogue and a plot Kinda.

My favorite thing was the arcade mode and that is because you get this green bar at the top
kick some ass and fill it up and right before your embarrass our self you can turn around the fight by pressing both punch buttons.

Doing so unleashed a final attack.

Now this attack can pretty much take out your opponent check out Leonardo
ayeeee.

One cool thing is a spectator mode why? because you can pin two different fighters to see how they match against each other.

So I had my own little experiment of my own and I decided to pit each turtle again shredder for scientifically purposes.

As much as i love Leonardo, Rafael is the true winner mike came a close second you can tell they works out and don’t skip leg day!

there you have it!

Ninja turtles tournament fighter for snes accomplishes everything it tried to be
but it still lost the opportunity to be something more.
but thats not my problem!

Because I love ninja turtles and at the end of the day even with its missing opportunities
this is a hard game to put down.

I give it three broken cars out of 5.
