How to stop a bloody nose quickly!

in #nose8 years ago

It was a cold winter morning with a slight draft of wind seeping its way into my room, when all of a sudden I woke up thinking I had spilled warn water on my pillow, but to my surprise it was blood. I than instantly jolt up and run to the bathroom sink as my nose leaves a trail of blood and quickly try to clot my left nostril to stop the bleeding, it eventually halts, but after a very long time and with a lot of effort to stop it all while plugging my nose and not being able to breathe from it. I thought to myself there must be a simpler way to effectively stop a nose bleed that is quicker than the traditional method. Then I remembered my Clinical Anatomy professor discussing all of the blood vessels in the facial region and how a very high concentration of blood to the nose comes from the vessels of the upper lip. So I tried to restrict access to blocking the flow of blood until I could successfully achieve a clot in my nose.
I found that the best solution was to use regular tissue paper by rolling it up in a bundle and placing it in between your upper lip and upper gum and after doing that you make sure to breathe in from your nose, this helps it clot faster.
After one minute of doing that your nose should stop bleeding and you can take the bundled tissue paper out and you can breath again. The tissue paper is what stops the flow of blood and breathing in from your nose is what helps clot the blood.Nasal-Bleeding-and-Foreign-Body-in-Nose.jpeg
