S29/W1- Nostalgia Of The Liitle Me : Games we used to play (Football)
Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the first week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing Games we used to play. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.
Edited in CanvaName of the childhood game
Football is the game we used to play in our childhood. It is popular worldwide, and the biggest sporting event, held every four years, centers around this game. I played a lot of football as a child. Since I grew up in a village, I had plenty of opportunities to play in large open fields.
Even after growing up, I still play football occasionally. In our area, some games hold a special place in everyone's hearts, and football is the one game everyone is seen playing. That is why a domestic football tournament is organized in our locality every year, in which I have also participated.
Where and with whom you used to play
I played football most frequently in the field behind our house, known as Hazari Bill. Whether it was summer, monsoon, or winter, we have many memories of playing in that field across all seasons. It wasn't just that field; as I grew older, especially during the monsoon when the fields would get submerged in water, I played with people of all ages in the open space of the shipyard near the sea behind our house.
I mostly played with friends of my own age. However, after growing up, the few times I played, we formed teams with people of all ages. Actually, youngsters are often great at dribbling and shooting; it's a game that brings joy regardless of the age of the people you play with. In our domestic football tournament, teams are formed by mixing everyone from age 14 to 40, and playing with them is truly enjoyable.
Why this game was special to you
This game is very special to me because my most cherished childhood moments and joys revolve around it. The amount of fun I had while playing football is beyond words. There were even times when we arranged matches with distant areas and traveled there together on the back of a truck, cheering all the way.
When the FIFA World Cup takes place every four years, a festive atmosphere is created in our area. Most of the matches start after midnight, and I enjoy those games with everyone—young and old—at the local tea stalls, having a great time. This is why the game is special to me; there is joy not just in playing it, but also in watching it.
Any funny, emotional, or memorable incident related to the game
A memorable moment was eating crab for the first time in my life while out to play football. We often played on the seashore in the empty parts of the shipyard behind our house. We were only allowed to play there on Fridays when the shipyard was closed. One day during the game, someone kicked the ball so hard that it goes quite far because the flat sandy beach so it to roll away.
While going to retrieve the ball, I noticed several crabs huddled together. When I moved the stone slightly, the crabs started scurrying around. I called some of my friends, and they took some of the big crabs. They were cooked at a local friend's house, and I went there in the evening to share the meal with everyone. That was the first time I ever ate crab, and it happened because of football.
Life lessons or values learned from playing those games
The rules of football aren't just for the pitch; this 90-minute battle learn great lessons for life and is useful in important stages of our reality.
Firstly, football is played in a team of 11, where everyone plays together as "we" rather than "I" to make the team win. This highlights the importance of teamwork. If we work together toward our goals and trust one another, victory is possible.
Secondly, one must fight until the very last moment. If the opponent scores early, it doesn't mean the game is lost. By struggling through the entire duration, it is possible to score in the final minute and win. Similarly, when faced with obstacles or adverse environments in life, one must not stop. Success can be achieved by putting in hard effort to reach the goal until the very end.
Finally, in football, a captain must lead. They have to make quick decisions and often encourage teammates to boost morale during tough times. Thus, football teaches us that leadership is not just about giving orders; it is about keeping everyone focused on the goal and leading them to reach it.
Thank you to the organizers of this challenge. I invite my three friends, @edgargonzalez @dove11 @jyoti-thelight to participate in this beautiful challenge topic.
