SC-S29/W2- Nostalgia Of The Liitle Me : My School Days
School life is often described as the best time of our lives, and I couldn't agree more. Looking back on the memories from my school days, both good and challenging I smiled. For me, it is one of the most positive and defining periods of my journey. I would say it's a golden age of my life because it shapes my character, values, and dreams.
In this post, I will share with you memories from my high school and university days - moments that have shaped me emotionally, academically, and personally. Stay connected.
One moment that really defines my School life is my seminar and project defense day, both in high school and university. It was unforgettable to stand in front of the School Management, lecturers, course mates, teachers, and classmates to defend my work. I must confess that I felt both tension, excitement, and pride during those moments. I vividly remember preparing tirelessly and rehearsing my points and making sure I didn't forget anything. I was always excited when it was over, and I felt relieved and accomplished knowing that I performed very well. Those days taught me self-confidence and courage.
I used to have mixed emotions, for example in my high school, I normally felt excitement during lunch break, excursions, and extracurricular activities like running and volleyball. I used to take part during school inter-house-sport, like running and fashion parade, and I be be among the winners! I was curious when we discussed our dreams, crushes, and future ambitions. I was usually scared during Mathematics and Further Mathematics classes, the teachers were so strict! Also moments of fears included exams periods and debates, and I knew I had to do better.
In University, I felt more independent but also responsible. The workload was heavy on me, but I enjoyed every bit of it, I enjoyed learning new things, discovering my strengths. It was exciting working with friends, attending departmental parties, and spending time in the library reading and researching.
I have friends who played major roles in shaping my school life, since my primary, secondary to university days I was blessed with supportive friends who studied with me and stood by me in difficult times. Friends who encouraged growth discipline and focus, But there's a particular guy I will never forget; though he was not my close friend or course mate, he brought out the best in me. I used to fear Mathematics and believed that I can never be good at it, but this guy taught me Mathematics like ABC, I came to like it and come out as one of the best. He used to do toturial with us and we paid him, and I will be forever grateful for him!
My lecturers were good and mattered to me because their teaching and guidance helped me to become more sensible, confident and intellectually sound.
One major lesson school taught me was discipline and responsibility. In my high school punctuality and rules really shape my behavior, school gate used to be locked by Dot 8 AM and if one arrived by 7:45 AM you'll be punished, and this teaches me discipline and accountability. University life taught me independence and self control, here I learned that freedom without self-discipline is dangerous and that to be successful I need to manage my time wisely.
I also learned teamwork during group projects and this teaches me patience, leadership and cooperation. All these lessons has helped to face real life challenges with confidence.
I would say that my school days shaped my personality in positive ways. They help me to discover who I am, build confidence, and develop leadership skills and qualities. University life helped me mature, to think for myself, make decisions and develop professional attitudes.
Today, with the help of my parents, elder siblings and school, I've been able to judge relationships better, I can manage responsibilities wisely and face any challenges that comes my way courageously; all thanks to the lessons I learned during my school years. Well, it's history now, but the memories, values and lessons are evergreen, and they will continue to guide me!

Greetings,
Thank you so much for participating in the contest.
You started with a very meaningful thought. School life is truly our golden age. It is the time when we prepare ourselves for the future and learn important qualities like discipline, punctuality, and responsibility, which later guide us toward success in life.
Through your seminar and project defense experiences, you gained valuable lessons in self-confidence and courage. These moments clearly show how facing challenges helps us grow, and they can be very inspiring for any student who is struggling with fear or self-doubt.
In my opinion, parts of school life such as lunch breaks, excursions, and extracurricular activities like running and volleyball are an inseparable part of our memories. These moments bring balance and joy to academic life. Also, very few students are not afraid of Mathematics, but when a friend helps you overcome that fear, that friend truly becomes priceless.
Being punctual in school and college also teaches us the value of time. You have shared some very thoughtful points. Indeed, school memories and values are evergreen, and these lessons continue to help us understand life better as we move forward.
Thanks for the review
We share a lot in common:
To think that there are many people like us who faced or are facing same. Sincerely, I agree that school shapes us. All those trying times and blissful experiences contribute to making us better versions of ourselves.
Thank you so much, dear. I truly agree with you that we have a lot in common. Introducing quantitative reasoning and mental math at the nursery and primary levels is a very wise step by the government. When children learn numbers early in a simple and fun way, it removes fear and builds confidence as they grow. This will surely reduce the dread many students later have for Mathematics and Further Mathematics in their high school.
You are also right; our personalities and values reflect the quality of education we received. Education goes beyond books; it shapes how we think, speak, and relate with others. I sincerely appreciate your kind words and your visit as well. 🌸
