A day in the life : Day 403
I had an unexpected argument with a close friend this week. It started from something small — a missed call, a misread message — and somehow turned into a full misunderstanding. Both of us were defensive, both sure we were right. It ended with silence, that awkward kind where you don’t know whether to speak first or just wait.
The next day, I kept replaying the conversation in my head, thinking about what I could’ve said differently. But somewhere in between all that overthinking, it hit me — sometimes it’s not about who’s right, it’s about who values the connection more. So, I decided to call. Not to prove a point, just to clear the air.
It wasn’t easy to dial that number, but the moment we started talking, it all softened. The tension dropped, and we both laughed about how unnecessarily dramatic the whole thing was. Turns out, most conflicts aren’t that deep — they just grow when no one takes the first step to fix them.
That little episode reminded me how fragile communication can be, especially when pride gets involved. You can be right and still lose peace over it. And honestly, peace matters more.
Now, I try not to stretch small disagreements. A quick talk, a simple “hey, let’s sort this,” can save a lot of unnecessary distance. In the end, it’s never the fight that matters — it’s how fast you decide to stop it.
