A day in the life : Day 404
This week, I decided to finally organize my room — something I’d been putting off for weeks. It started simple, just clearing one shelf. But within minutes, everything was scattered: papers, old receipts, half-used cables, things I didn’t even remember owning. What was supposed to be a small task turned into an all-day clean-up.
Halfway through, I thought about quitting and just stuffing everything back where it was. But I pushed through, sorting one pile at a time. It took longer than I wanted, but by evening, the space looked lighter, cleaner. It wasn’t just about tidying the room — my mind felt clearer too. Funny how those two are connected.
While doing it, I found old notes and things from years ago — reminders of ideas I’d forgotten, plans I never started, a few small wins I didn’t give myself credit for back then. It felt grounding, in a strange way, to see how far I’d quietly come without noticing.
Sometimes clutter isn’t just physical; it’s mental. You hold onto things because you think you might need them later, but most of it just sits there, taking up space.
Now, every time I look around, I feel calmer. The task that felt too big actually gave me more than a clean room — it gave me a sense of control back. Maybe that’s what small chores really do. They remind you that even when bigger things feel uncertain, there’s always something you can put in order.
