A day in the life : Day 405
I’ve been experimenting with using AI tools lately — not for anything fancy, just to see what the hype is about. Everyone seems to be using them now, from writing emails to editing videos. At first, I was skeptical. It felt strange to hand over even small creative tasks to a machine. But after a few days, I realized it’s less about replacing effort and more about saving time for things that actually need your attention.
Still, there’s a balance. This week, I noticed I was leaning on it too much — drafting messages, summarizing notes, even helping plan my grocery list. It made life smoother, sure, but it also made me feel a bit disconnected from my own process. I caught myself double-checking AI’s suggestions more than trusting my instincts. That was a small wake-up call.
So, I started using it differently. Now I let it assist, not decide. If I need ideas, I’ll get a few options, but the final call stays mine. It’s like having a helpful assistant, not a replacement.
It’s funny how technology creeps into daily life so quietly. One week you’re curious, the next you’re relying on it. I think that’s fine — as long as you don’t forget how to think, write, and decide for yourself.
The trend will keep growing, that’s obvious. But maybe the real skill now isn’t using AI — it’s knowing when not to.
