A day in the life : Day 410

in #notes4 days ago

The weather’s been shifting lately — cooler mornings, shorter days. It’s that awkward in-between season where you don’t know if you need a sweater or a fan. I’ve been trying to adjust my habits with it, especially around food. Lately, social media is full of people doing “seasonal resets” — switching to soups, herbal teas, and so-called immunity-boosting diets. It looked convincing enough, so I figured I’d give it a try.

The first few days were fine. Warm meals actually felt good after weeks of cold drinks and quick snacks. But then I got a bit too ambitious and tried one of those “detox” smoothie plans that keep trending. Let’s just say my body disagreed. I was hungry every two hours, cranky, and nowhere near “cleansed.”

That’s when I reminded myself that real changes don’t have to be extreme. I went back to basics — light meals, fresh fruit, and enough water. I even started having dinner earlier, which surprisingly made my mornings feel less sluggish.

It’s funny how trends always make balance sound too simple or too complicated. The truth is, your body usually knows what it needs; it’s your habits that need catching up.

Now, I’m not following any plan. I just eat better, rest more, and keep a flask of warm water nearby because apparently, that’s the internet’s favorite cure for everything. Maybe it’s not a perfect seasonal “reset,” but it feels realistic — and right now, that’s enough.
