A day in the life : Day 411
This week, I decided to take a short break from caffeine. It wasn’t planned — more like one of those random “let’s try this” ideas you get after scrolling through wellness reels. Everyone online is talking about cutting back on coffee to improve sleep and reduce anxiety, so I figured I’d give it a shot.
The first two days were rough. The headache was real, and my focus dropped to half. I tried replacing coffee with green tea, but honestly, it just wasn’t the same. Still, by the fourth day, I started noticing a difference. My energy didn’t crash as hard in the afternoons, and I was sleeping better.
Maybe it’s the weather too — the slight chill in the mornings makes everything feel slower. I’ve started having warm lemon water instead of coffee, and though it doesn’t wake me up the same way, it feels easier on the system. I even noticed I’m drinking more water throughout the day.
It made me realize how easily small habits turn into dependencies. One skipped coffee and I was cranky, which says a lot. I’m not quitting it forever — let’s be honest — but I think I’ll keep it to one cup instead of three.
Trends like these sometimes sound exaggerated online, but when you try them realistically, they do make a difference. It’s not about giving things up completely; it’s just about finding a better balance. Turns out, moderation really does work — it just takes a few cranky mornings to see it.
