A day in the life : Day 442
This week, I ran into a small problem with my notes. I had written things down across three different places — a notebook, a notes app, and random sticky reminders. When I needed to find something quickly, it took longer than it should have. Around the same time, I kept seeing people talk about the trend of keeping a “second brain” — one simple place where all important notes live.
I didn’t go full system mode. I just picked one app and moved only what actually mattered. Old ideas, tasks, and bits of information that I kept rewriting everywhere finally had one home. The first day felt tedious. Copying things over wasn’t fun, and I almost gave up halfway.
The next day, though, it paid off. I was preparing for a discussion and found everything I needed in one place. No searching, no second guessing. I did mess up once — I forgot to save a new note and had to recreate it later. That was annoying, but it also reminded me why having a habit matters more than having a tool.
The weather’s been warm during the day and cooler in the evening. I’ve switched to lighter meals and more water again, which helps keep my head clear. Heavy food plus mental clutter makes me feel slow, so this small change fit well with the note cleanup.
By the end of the week, my thoughts felt less scattered. Not because I had more ideas, but because I wasn’t losing them anymore.
Trends like “second brain” sound big online, but in practice, they’re just about reducing friction. When you know where things go, you don’t waste energy looking for them. Sometimes that’s all you need to feel more organized — fewer places to check, fewer things to forget.
