A day in the life : Day 629

I saw an interesting piece of news today from NIELIT about Cyber Kushti 2026, a national cybersecurity challenge where participants have to judge AI-generated security findings and separate real threats from false alarms. I liked the idea because it puts some value back on human judgment. AI can produce plenty of answers, but someone still has to decide which ones actually matter.

My own day had a small lesson in that department. I spent quite a while trying to fix a problem that looked complicated. After checking several possibilities, I realised the actual issue was a simple setting I had changed earlier. It was one of those moments where you stare at something for too long and stop seeing what is right in front of you.

There is also a lot of talk about AI being used in ordinary businesses now. One company announced today that its AI concierge system, already tested across more than 1,000 hotels in India, is being expanded to other countries. That seems more interesting to me than another announcement about a slightly faster model.

The weather stayed fairly typical for this time of year. Warm when the rain stopped, cooler when the clouds returned. I had more tea than usual and kept dinner simple. Somehow simple food feels better during the monsoon.

I also spent some time clearing an old list of small tasks. A few had been sitting there for weeks. None were important enough to worry about, but finishing them felt good.

It was a normal day overall. A little work, some technology news, decent food and one annoying problem that turned out to be my own mistake. I can live with that. Now I am ready to leave the rest for tomorrow.
