[CR] Movement in dance
I was surprised by the amount of sketching that was accomplished the other day.
I’ve been running on empty which leaves me feeling weary most of the day but somehow I managed to milk the last few drops of creativity out. After my running studies, I decided to do another one of dancers. They turned out better than I thought they would and I’ll have to continue practicing. This time around I tried using more square and rectangular shapes.
The progress...

While sketching this I thought about that animation story scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows : part 1. It was the Tale of Three Brothers. This dancing form reminded me of the wife who was summoned back by the death stone.

Mapping out the torso for this sketch was interesting because you don’t quite know what it is until I add the limbs.

I have a tendency to run out of space while sketching, which is why I have to repeatedly shrink the image. It must be my love for Tim Burton because I always love the look of long exaggerated limbs.
This are very fluid and natural. Reminds me a bit of the John Romita style in the classic "How to Draw Comics The Marvel Way".
I’ve always been inspired by comics so that’s such a great compliment to hear. :) Thank you!
They are very good movements! :) <3
I understand that Balett is a very strong discipline, but it looks as easy as they can perform amounts of movement.
I would fall, hehehe.
I like the first one very much, I always wanted to draw a girl dancing Balett, but I have never been able to fulfill it. ;(
Thanks dear @yanes94!
I would most likely fall flat on my face as well!
Heheheh!
Better draw them and avoid blows!
You have such a good eye for drawing, one can see that in the fluid and quick line movement. I love these. And I'm loving all the little animations!
In my early years of drawing I would constantly draw the same line over and over again until I was able to produce the the longest stroke without any breaks...if that makes sense. I’m glad that my practice paid off. ^^
