Greatest Rap Songs of All Time - Changes by Tupac
Hello everyone,
Sorry for the delay in the series but I'm back and I'm better, today we are going to be looking at "Changes" by Tupac
The meaning of the song.
In the song, Tupac starts talking about how the African-American race are treated unfairly and advocates for changes to be made in society so that everyone gets treated fairly. One line in the song that strikes me is,
"I made a G (grand) today" But you made it in a sleazy way
Sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid, "
Well hey, well that's the way it is"
This line shows that discrimination has stopped African-Americans make real money working at an office but instead they turn to hustling in the streets, I am glad by the advancements made in society so everyone has a chance to make it
What made this song so popular.
This song had largely became popular as this was released after the death of Tupac after he was unfortunately killed in a drive-by with the killer and the man(the men) behind the whole killing haven't been found after all these years. Tupac is widely regarded as the best rapper of all time and an era defining figure. Tupac was a voice for all African-American and took charge when everybody else was scared, he didn't always rap about the hoes and the money and some of his biggest songs are talking about important issues.
