Nursery Rhymes and other things for Spring
Have you got your garden or pots started?
This is my local nursery. It goes on for almost forever, but, also had an area that is covered. It is privately owned and operated by an exceptionally nice family. They actually have three stores in the Washington, DC area and I chose the one closest to me today. Not because it is the closest, but, because they have the most variety, always! The people they employ there are very knowledgable and have taught me much useful information regarding my gardens, two of the employees teach me photography tricks and one girl gives me tips on life. (Some are pretty good too!) So, it is really a one-stop-shop of sorts.
By singing: "Oh, how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade

One of my favorite spring flowers. I have several places where they are coming up, but, one got stomped to death last fall when work was being performed in the garden. Oh, my bleeding, bleeding heart! I bought this one to take its place.
I didn't buy any, but they had a major selection of statues and this little guy kept trying to make me put it in the cart. Oh, he begged, I swear it!! Maybe next time!
I could spend all day here, but, honestly, I needed to get in and out, the day for toiling about was not today during the lockdown. I had to say to myself, are flowers a necessity? Why yes, Martha. They are good for my mental health. Enough said.
And just like that, my shopping is done. Until next time! I hope you had fun and maybe next time, we will get a few more plants to fill in the spaces. As always, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit #MarketFriday!! Have a most fabulous day!
I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
Nice that a private owned place is open to people.
Here's my #marketfriday take:
We are still on complete lockdown, but, they have allowed a few of the nurseries to open. I do mean FEW. Nobody was i there and besides that, you can buy flowers at the food market too. :)
Thanks for dropping your link!

You're welcome. So, can you also buy food at the flower market? 😎
Actually, you can! :)
Ah, they know how to cross sell.

Well, it really wasn't open to the public, only landscapers. Everything is still closed here. We are in total lockdown. I think they may open a few things soonish, but, nothing major.
Thank you so much for stopping by and being a part of #MarketFriday! It is much appreciated! Thank you also for dropping your link here!
Have a most wonderful weekend!

It's all right, dear Denise!
I was just busy :-)
I wouldn't mind it all if you keep going the whole day with this lovely post. The pictures are awesome. But I am a bit biased towards your Bleeding Hearts. One day I will have that in my garden!
It's Friday and as usual I have a small contribution to your challenge. I hope you like it. This is the link here.
What a truly kind thing to say! You have a way of making people feel good about themselves. So thank you for that. Bleeding hearts are probably one of my favorite, alongside the Beautiful Columbine. In particular the double pleated ones that are black. They're very unusual and I have only ever seen them once so of course I had to buy them. I hope that someday you do get some bleeding hearts in your garden. My suggestion is that you order the seeds online and you too will have some of the beauty in the spring.
Thank you so much for always supporting the challenge. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Thank you for dropping your link here.
