After 100 Issues... Find out what it means to our OG curators to be part of OCD!

in #ocd7 years ago (edited)

It´s been 100 Issues since the first day Operation Curation Delegation (OCD) started engines. It sure has been a ride full of ups and downs, full of experiences and learnings from every member of this curation guild. Finding amazing underrated posts from relatively new users has a different meaning for each and every one of our curators.

Below, you can read about what it means to be part of OCD for the curators who started are part of this project since it was born under the leadership of @acidyo.

I remember looking back on the day I first saw the post from @Acidyo , who was looking for people to sign up to be a part of Operation Curation Delegation. I was still very new to steemit at the time, but I remember thinking that I would love to help out other Steemians by curating thier content. Luckily, I was chosen to be a part of the initial 20 curators in Operation Curation Delegation, OCD.

This experience has been far greater than I would have expected! I have been able to interact with dozens of different Steemit users from all over the world. Reading thier content has been amazing! There are so many great content creators out there who may go unoticed, and I am happy to be part of a great team that helps find them to share with the rest of the Steemit community!

I am proud to have nominated 100 different posts to the curator team, and hope to nominate many more in the future! Thank you Acidyo! To the new Steemit users out there, Keep creating that amazing content!

After 100 issues, I really don’t know why I’m an OCD curator. But I enjoy it a lot.

This story began with the @Acidyo call for new curators for the OCD project. I was over excited about everything Steemit related because I was really, really new (less than 20 days old) and my first post raised like 40 sbd. So I was steaming all over the place.

Back in those days, a total stranger going by the name of @anomadsoul ask me to vouch for him in the OCD project and after thinking it a little I did. Then I said: Wait a minute! I want to be part of this too… I didn’t understand it completely but I still want it, so I nominate myself and ask all my Steemit friends to vouch for me, I only had one at that time. So with the grand total of one vouch, Acidyo choose me to be part of this. I don’t know why he chose me, I never asked, but I’m grateful he did.

Since that moment I’ve been looking for great posts and meeting people along the way.

The biggest reward of this project is connecting with people. The answer you get after giving them a kind word of encouragement for their great work is touching, you just feel the bond and that's bigger than all the SBD’s on Steemit. Ha ha! just kidding but it feels great.

Acidyo put out a call for curators on his new project and, hoping to help minnows, I applied. I was inundated with support and was happy to have been chosen to take part. It is a pleasure to find new authors early in their Steemit journeys to shine a light on.

Being part of OCD exposes me to content I wouldn’t ordinarily read and for that I am thankful.

Being an OCD curator for the past 100 issues has been the most satisfying thing I have done on Steemit since joining in May. The best part about being a curator with OCD is having the ability to encourage others on the platform to keep going, to help this amazing community grow. I have been able to find posts from users that had been plugging away, posting, commenting, and voting for weeks with little to no success.

They were on the verge of leaving Steemit for good, only to be encouraged by being featured in the daily OCD post! That is the greatest feeling around, being able to help someone see the light and start to really enjoy their time on Steemit.

I can’t wait to see what the next 100 OCD issues bring!

Like most of you guys, I was super new to Steemit when I first heard of the OCD project. I wasn't following Acidyo back then but I noticed that he mentioned about a new project on Steemit.chat. I went to check it out and I applied for it but I didn't think I would be picked at all. Super surprised to see my name on the initial list of 20 curators! Of course, many left and many new ones came in. I'm glad that the project is now running smoothly despite the initial hiccups.

100 days went by pretty quickly and applying for OCD was one of the best decisions I've made on Steemit. I met lots of awesome people in the team and discovered plenty of amazing authors on Steemit when I go through the nominations (by everyone) each day. There are still a lot of undervalued authors and hopefully we'll be able to reach all of them. Big thanks to Mew Lord for making this happen!

I never was a big writer on steemit, I just write post when I have the time and the motivation, but I like reading the post posted on steemit and one day I saw the post from @Acidyo where here was searching people for his project. I already was a litle bit active in the whaleshares community and found the project really interresting and so the people from whaleshares helped me by voting for me to become a OCD curator.

And now I am here after 100 days and I discoverd so many new steemians, some that I nominated for OCD, some that I reported for plagiarism to steemcleaner and the best: all the OCD curator I met in this adventure. Some of them are still here, some already left and we are getting constantly new curators entering. Recently the international curator give our small group a much bigger size and brought new live in the group. I hope that we can continiue so on at least for the next 100 Post! Thanks for reading.

A few weeks into Seemit and I was still finding my way when I saw Acidyo's post for OCD. Not only was the name cool, I was intrigued and excited by the thought behind starting a curating team for helping under-appreciated, undiscovered authors from across Steemit. The rest, as they say, is history! 100 daily issues in and OCD is only going from strength to strength. We’ve had a few changes in the team, gone international and many more cool things to come - but at the core, the need to curate amazing content remains intact.

The journey so far has been fabulous, I get to engage and interact with so many talented authors as we find gems from across the talent pool of Steemit. The fact that we discover so much diverse content during our curation and encourage Steemit authors who are struggling to find their way on Steemit to continue gives us motivation to go on and do our job effectively.

Working with an amazing team has been the cherry on the cake, and as OCD continues its journey, we hope to achieve many more special milestones.

I don´t want to be too long, I always end up with a small thesis everytime someone asks me to write about an experience, so I´ll just say this: OCD became my second home here on Steemit, I´ve had the opportunity to help undervalued authors the same way I got support when I started, I´ve made some friends that I consider very close to me but most importantly, I feel like I am making a difference, as small as it may be, to help Steemit be the best version it can.

As you can see, every curator has a different background, diverse interests and a unique posting style thus they all have a different opinion about OCD, but the one thing in common is: being part of OCD completely changed their lives here on Steemit.

The OCD team would also like to thank those that strive to make a difference. As anyone can create a post but only some can create/build value.

Keep up the good work creating original content

You never know when @ocd may be around :)

Know that your Resteem supports undervalued authors!

I think we need to thank the OCD team for everything they do. You really give new Steem members a chance to see what can be gained from Steem. And by that, I do not mean money, I mean conversations and communication. Every time you guys help someone who has just joined Steem, you broaden the friendships that they can make in the Steem community.

In my opinion, it won't be the money that keeps Steemians around. It will be the community that grows from sharing experiences, ideas and beliefs!

Thank you!!!!

Very grateful to be a member of this team of curators!

it may look easy... but i have no doubt about the fact that just like one cant see the foundation of an enormous building .... but everyone knows that the entire burden is being withstood by the foundation.... in the same way, the sttemit community is being held together by many factors....one such factor is defiantly....CURATORS.... buck up OCD team.......

Thank you @acidyo
It is initiatives and encouragment from whales that will really move STEEMIT forward as a contender in the realm of social media and blogosphere! It means a lot that you recognize that and stand behind such fine actions!

Thank you to the ocd team! You are doing great work!! Without you, acidyo's initiative would not be possible. It takes a village to raise a new steemian!!

If you need help or take on new curators let me know, I would be happen to help!

Peace

I think it's great what you're doing!
Thanks for making us travel!
I upvote and resteem all your post!🙇
