OCD Daily: Issue #203
OCD DAILY - Issue #203
Welcome to the 203rd issue of @OCD Daily!
Issue #203 highlights content from ten (10) Steemit Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steemit to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.
Today our curators found you ten new pieces of original content! We strive to find works that are provided by newer Steemit users, that may not have the audience which their quality content deserves. @OCD strives to help provide that audience, and intends to showcase Steemit users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.
A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are placed into the compilation.
We encourage you to visit these blogs and to show these great Steemians your support and encouragement.
All of the content as chosen by our curators is undervalued, but there is always one piece that rises to the top. That piece is seen as universally appreciated and valued making it OCD’s Top Nomination of the Day.
Our first post today is from @rahmadantara, who gives us a pictorial essay on hunting oysters in Aceh, Indonesia. Oysters can supplement a family's income and can help pay for childrens' education. These photos are of the Cunda River in Lhokseumawe and most of the hunting is done by housewives. Make sure you check out this post, showing the unflinching spirit of these women of Aceh. Curated by @jznsamuel.
Next up is what looks to be a delicious recipe for a vegetarian oat-patty burger. This one only takes 20 minutes to prepare and 15 to cook and is explained in detail by @inspiration-bay, a newer blog author who's been sharing several recipes to Steemit. And the image is a Steemit original, too - looks scrumptious! Curated by @mk40.
For the first time in nearly 10 years, @fiftysixnorth got a snow day in Edinburgh! The storm warning was for severe weather, so his employer closed up shop, allowing a long series of photos of this Scottish winter wonderland. Just as impressive as the snow, though, are the beautiful buildings and old-world architecture caught in this series of snaps. Curated by @elteamgordo.
Next we have a DIY post showing all the steps required to join copper pipe, along with photographs and a few short videos. This post, compiled by @vanirfan, describes brazing, soldering, and using a swaging tool. The pipes in question are used in air conditioning systems, and once you check for leaks, your work is done! Curated by @gniksivart.
In the next post, @nadejdaalienor shares the writing and illustrations of his finished book. The illustrations were painted in Photoshop and the book's story involved telling a tale to Emy, a young girl. The tale involved a man who buys a magical lamp. Make sure you read all the way to the end, for Emy's reaction to the story! Curated by @m31.
Next is a funny comic describing the fictional origin of the nuclear bomb. In this one, @cobmaximus wanted to limit a joke to just four frames and he's been experimenting with story telling in his comics. Go check it out and let him know how he's doing! Curated by @howtostartablog.
Superheroes aren't just great for their villain-fighting skills; they're also good at balancing their work and superhero life. So says @looftee in this self-help post showing a comparison between those who are workaholics and those who are lazy. The true superheroes, though, lead a balanced life. Curated by @guyfawkes4-20.
Many coffee myths are dispelled in this next post by @vanessapineda7, including those about coffee causing dehydration, cancer, or heart problems. The post also discusses whether or not coffee cures a hangover or ruins teeth. Curated by @anomadsoul.
In the 1860s, the ancestors of @wizardave received a land grant from the US government. So begins his story of the family homestead. Be sure to follow along, as they're removing old buildings (and trees) and settling into new digs. Curated by ma1neevent.
Last for today is the story "The Hungry Wolf" by @bex-dk. It's the story of a wolf troubled by the fact that he'd recently eaten his only friend, a hare. Now abandoned by his pack, this wolf has gone vegetarian when he spies Little Red Riding Hood. You probably know what's coming next, but be sure to read this updated version of the classic fairy tale. Curated by @gmuxx.
We hope you were able to take away something different, fresh, and new from these content posts, as provided by the @ocd curators.
