Why can't we delete blog posts?

I wrote a story.. realized there were some major edits needed to be made (hence the url) .. and I can only edit it?

It'd be great to have a feature that would enable a deletion of the post. I've found several old posts discussing this and even saw a delete button at the bottom, but it didn't do anything after clicking delete....
