My challenge getting people to join steem(dtube)
If youve been following my activities on twitter (@iAM__NONSO) and Instagram you know that I have become a mini-promoter of the steem blockchain and the dtube platform. I have been championing this course for a while now. I believe we need to the spread the word and get out of our comfort zone which happens to be the steem blockchain and start having conversations about steem outside this platform.
I have successfully created three accounts for friends and sadly they've not given steem a chance. It is a bit frustrating because I use my steem to create these accounts on blocktrade.
I reached out to @nathanmars today on twitter trying to discuss ways we have solve this onboarding issue. We have a lot of people who aren't willing to wait the full 2weeks for a free account and are unwilling to pay for one. So I have tried to breach this gap by volunteering to create accounts with my steem for them. But this is not ideal and I have been thinking about ways to solve this problem. I just came up with an idea.
"An interim account*. I am still a small fish in this big ocean and there is a limit to what I can do. I cannot waste my resource trying to get people to join to this platform-- people who end up not even giving steem a chance. So starting from today I will buy an account blocktrade which will serve as an interim account for people I am trying to onboard. They will have the posting key to that account and they can create contents and earn with that account. Once they are able to accumulate 6steem it will be used to get a paid account for them so they can start their own steem journey. I think this is a good idea. Rather having to creating numerous account that end up not being active, I can simply create one and for those who want to give steem a try can use this account and have a firsthand experience of the steem blockchain without being 100% involved.
Since this is a dtube and #link777 initiative, these interim user will have to make an introductory video to show they are real people. I know you're wondering how many people will be using the account simultaneously, well I am just restricting to one person per week and they will have their names on display. With this initiative I plan on bring 40 persons to the steem blockchain.
Another issue I want to address and need help with is onboarding tutorials. I really do not want to bring people here and not have them understand the basic things about this platform. My knowledge is limited. So if you know any team working on helping new users please let me know. Also, if there is an active team on twitter helping out then please link me with them.
Put your money where your mouth is.
I want to be a doer not a talker; I want to contribute to the growth of this platform in my own little way and I hope we all can do the same. This is a great idea and would enjoy supporting as well. I have been claiming free accounts for some time now so when the logistics start to work for me to comfortably create accounts, I would be happy to donate them if the users pass your hurdle of being active and engaging with your new account (let us know what thr account name is). I would also tell you to keep your eyes out for the @steemonboarding initiative as they are creating great assets and content to assist new users onboard here. I will also look into these introductions as part of my weekly curation efforts in the #introduceyourself posts. Also, @oracle-d has just launched @steem-ninja (not sure the account name) which allows you to create accounts with $2 USD and includes additional benefits like a short-term delegation to engage and has an affiliate link for those who sign up. I am excited to see the projects and communities focus on this as it will be a pivotal opportunity for the future of the value creation.

Wow! Thanks. This is something small though. Anyway I just created the interim account (@interim-account). Will delegate 50sp to the account to have it functional. so I was talked to someone today, and I would have her use the account to make her first dtube video. A step at a time.
