The Anti -emetic drugs (ondansetron): uses and the side effect

The ondansetron also called the 5-HT3 Antagonist.
also used to control the cancer chemotherapy induced vomiting.
there is no clinically significant drug interaction.
it is eliminated in urine and feaces and duration of action is 8-12 hours (longer at higher doses).
SIDE EFFECTS:
common side effects are headache and dizziness.
mild constipation and abdominal discomfort occur in few patients.
hypotension , bradycardia (decrease in the heart rate ), chest pain, especially after the i.v.(intravenous) injection.
