I enjoyed your performance. I also found this very intriguing, because I recognize the tune to this song as that of an old hymn, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." I was able to find a steel guitar rendition of it here:

Furthermore, I found that the tune is attributed to one Charles C. Converse.

If you should have any references to the original folk-song source, I'd appreciate it as I have (so far) been unable to find a match in that area of searching...
