Steemit Open Mic Week 137

So I am fully caught up again and back on track, thanks for your patience everyone. I'm Back From The Hospital, My Left Arm Is Still Healing But I Am Back With A New Style Of Reviewing. It is actually what I always wanted to do, but I just realized it now, which is...Rhyming Reviews, because I am an Emcee & Poet to the core...But it took me long enough to even think of this idea lol Maybe because I wanted to give a more professional approach to the song review process of the Open Mic Contest, but this new way of judging for me is so much more enjoyable, so that I can give back to you the best way I know how, which is through the art of lyricism and intentional poetics. Please enjoy.

My Top 5 In Order

As one of the 5 judges, and as an original artist also, I aim to represent the best original artists in this contest from our wonderful Steemit community. I am keeping my ears open for cover artists as well, don't worry but creating an original song is indeed impressive, especially if executed and performed well. Best of skill and performance to you all next week. This week was filled with so many wonderful artists, even amongst the high amount of entries, and there were still many talented performers who entered, so forgive me if I didn't list you, I definitely heard everyone's entries. Also, be sure to check out the other judges' top picks for the week, @krystle, @soundlegion, @meno, and @luzcypher, who hosts the Open Mic Contest. See you next week! And don't forget to please vote for @Pfunk, @Ausbitbank, @Luzcypher, @Curie, @Aggroed, @Helpie, @Lukestokes, @PRC & @Teamsteem as witnesses here https://steemit.com/~witnesses, all of whom are our biggest supporters who help to run, fund, curate, build and expand the Open Mic Contest.

1. @orrslaw's "Let Go" Original Song

What is amazing is that you make every line, word and sound count. Your rhythmic flow is the peak of the mount. Priceless emotions that have no amount, when you deliver the feelings with raw force while revealing the internal account. Your soul is fused with every rift and run you unleash, and the ruggedness of the grunginess fits so real in the crease, you are asking your lover to let go and release, 'cause you won't miss them much more 'cause the love is deceased, oh how feelings decrease, fleeting moments blow East, love strings woven in the beginning with care, but now rip and tear easy like knife through soft fleece. This song puts me at peace.

2. @roman.musica's "Viaje " Original Song

At times in life, we can be broken down and shattered, but a performance of this beautiful magnitude proves that life matters. Strength lies in those who pick up the pieces, regardless of their flaws and fractures, they straighten their posture even when their back hurts, when evil pulls them backwards, and a whispering drowns their hopes with half words, and the tears on the floor spread across when they splatter, your music can mend and heal what has been ripped and tattered. Music is a universal language and what you have shared with us is a deep, touching conversation, which is beyond gossip and chatter.

3. @joseacabrerav's "Raciosimio" Original Song

The inner soul is in a constant unraveling, often times looking for itself searching and traveling, and answers are given unto us, when we have not asked the right questions, but we move our feet in the direction of the wind at the intersections and junctions. That is how we often are on impulse, our basic functions. Sometimes its hard to stand upon crumbling foundations when its sunken. We lay waiting in the primitive state, either love or its hate. We are boxed in our minds, a mental facility crate. But do not fret, or deteriorate, break free and be brave, be great. Just as you were in this entry, mate.

4. @drewley's "Hallelujah" Cover Song

You gave us such a great rendition, I wouldn't mind hearing this again multiple times, repetition. Even though many have sang this classic before you, your voice fits so well to this song, keep doing music I implore you. Whether loud piano bars or in rooms of solitude, your potential is latitude and your worth is longitude. We value and appreciate all your gifts of covers and compositions, and you are often considered or placed with the top comp positions, in this competition, and for good reason and recognition.

5. @vanne's "Amazing Grace" By John Newton Cover Song

Your love for God speaks clearly through your moving and gracious performance, it is the kind of love that wakes the sleeping hearts that are dormant, to welcome and receive Jesus Christ as absorbent, to rescue them as wretches, released from their torments. Your gift is being used to the upmost importance, each note is an ornament and this world gets its adornment, because music can change lives, and in God's love we thrive, nothing but good vibes...

Apparently a lot of people don't know that I, @Verbal-D, am a Hip Hop Emcee as much as I am a singer/songwriter/beat producer, so I will continue to showcase from now on the song that inspired @Luzcypher to create the Open Mic Contest that we are all apart of today. I hope it inspires you to write original music.

Kinder words I've never heard spoken about my art. You've given me a blessing friend. :D

It was truly my pleasure to derive such inspiration from your art. May the blessings be fruitful in abundance my friend.

Thank you for your words @ d-verbal, the accuracy with which you describe is amazing. I think that every good thing we have to share it, and the word of God is sufficient for every moment of our lives. It is also a privilege that I can be serving for this platform and the open mic family.

You are so welcome @vanne. I hope you were able to translate my poetic English effectively. God is so great all the time, glad you share that same belief too. Indeed it is a privilege for me to be a part of this community and open mic family as well. There is no other place like here.
