Hey there, it's @ddrfr33k. We're back again, coming at you with another weekly discussion forum. Up in the northern hemisphere, we're in the thick of the dog days of summer. It's a great time to be out and about, hitting the beach, surfing if you can, and soaking up the sun. Not all of us do that, though. We're just a bunch of cave trolls who can't really handle the sunlight. But what are you waiting for? Me to stop talking? Well, fine then!

This week's theme is:

Greatest Achievement

Not sure about greatest achievement of all time. But one would prolly be whenever I take out a legendary Pokemon with my Porygon!
In terms of recent achievements, I recently just 100%'d Crash Bandicoot 1 on the N.sane Trilogy.

Hey, those Crash games were not the easiest games to complete. That's a pretty impressive achievement!

Back in 2014, I ran a marathon session of Gears of War to raise money for Child's Play. We ran nonstop, playing on Insane. It was as ridiculous as it sounds.

The big achievement, however, was when we finally killed Raam in the first game. Up until that point, I hadn't done that. I'd finished the game on Casual and Hardcore, and I had completed everything in Insane UP UNTIL killing General Raam. Until that stream. It was about 5:45 in the morning, and we had spent about an hour and a half working on him. There was a group of us, and we were taking it in shifts. I had just woken up, so I was refreshed and ready to take on the challenge. It was two of us, working in tandem, and we finally pulled it off. We couldn't cheer or anything, because I didn't want to wake up my roommates. That and @itsapril probably would have killed me, too.

Overall, the drive was reasonably successful. I hadn't been streaming for long, and we went for a whole weekend straight. We started at noon on Friday and went until 9:30 PM on Sunday. We cleared the first two Gears games, and got to Act III on Gears 3. We died 1,254 times. Yes, we kept track.

So yeah, that's my achievement story. If I spent a bit more time, I could probably come up with others. But this was what I remembered first.

I think one of the biggest achievements I have memory of is in shovel knight. A complex game on it's own but even more when you add the expansion bonuses like Specter of Torment.

Specter of torment has a special challenge you can complete right from the start of the game, it's called the tower challenge or something like that and it consists of guess what, a challenge in the form of a tower!

The challenge is full of hazards, enemies and traps (Not the anime ones) and it's your obligation as part of the challenge to pass through the complete tower in a certain amount of time before you get shocked by the floor as you go up. (There's literally a lightning ray following you through each segment of the tower as you go. You missed a jump? That might be the end of your run.)

My achievement consists of clearing the tower challenge without using items (which would help a lot, tbh) and without getting hit. I don't have a recording of myself actually going through the level but this motivates me to maybe get shovelknight on my pc and record it!

I'll leave a short clip of a youtuber called Lloydarts completing the challenge.

This is like my favorite part of the game because it tests the actual skills of the player in terms of learning how Specter Knight moves and works. Simply, there's no easy way to win it and that's why I enjoy it so much.

Greatest achievement: beating Ruby Weapon in FF7

Some of those side bosses are just ridiculous...

Greatest achievement? I don't do extra great things in games, but I sometimes get achievements in funny ways.

One achievement I want to mention. I, my brother and cousins when playing Playstation 1 we were getting a game, spend days on completing the first run, then we go to the store and buy another one. (We never %100 them.)

One of the games we tried to %100 was Resident Evil 2, we read somewhere that if you beat the game with S in less than 3 hours (I think) you'll open a hidden level.

We spent days taking turns (us five, but I never helped win.) To complete the games... we got the results: C, B, A... By the time we completed it on S we have memorized every bit of the games gameplay, we attack some zombies before they even appear on the screen.

That's what I call an achievement.

Sadly, we didn't get that hidden level... Or it wasn't there in the first place?

It's a great time to be out and about, hitting the beach, surfing if you can, and soaking up the sun.

Ah, you reminded me... I haven't gone to beach yet this summer. Actually I didn't go much in the last summer too...

The biohazard games are awesome. The early ones were super hard, but worth playing because they were so interesting.

And get out to the beach, fool!

I'm never one for PVP, when I'm forced to do it my hands get cold and shaky and I get anxious.

My greatest achievement is overcoming that PVP anxiety and realizing that it's just a game, I should just relax and enjoy it.

DUDE SAME. It happens to me whenever i'm playing either Tekken, Melee or even Street Fighter. Like the whole tension build up is too intense and my hands get sweaty, my knees get weak and then I fuck up and start doing spaghettis on my controller (?)

I recently got the golden priest in Hearthstone. I didn't think I'd ever get it. I even wrote a post about it!

Golden Priest! @simgirl Wins 500 Games in Hearthstone

Congratulations! That's not easy to do...
