The nanny State

The nanny State seems to be an inexhaustible theme of discussion among libertarians and everybody who have at least a minimum level of concern about the rising of authoritarianism in the world. I could mention hundreds of examples of how authoritarian our world is becoming and how terrible that could be to our society, but what really need to be emphasize is the necessity of a reflection about the role of government in our lives, no matter if you are a libertarian or not, what you should ask to yourself is: Am I willing to giving up some of my freedoms in exchange of an alleged security increase? If your answer in a given situation is no, you have a good reason to question the state intervention in one specific issue and try to fight back. In my opinion a society with the greatest level of freedom possible will be good for everybody, but even if we don't agree in some point, I will be happy if I can convince at least one person that don't agree with me to fight for more freedom even if is just for one time.
