Steemit Up: Original Artwork + My Introduction
Hello, I would like to introduce myself.
I am Art of Know
I am a freelance artist looking to widen my horizons, here on Steemit, by producing insightful content in the form of original artwork, commentary, as well as links to other artists, who want to share the truth with the world.
What kind of content you ask?
The kind that pushes passed the tiresome political correctness and immerses you in topics not in line with typical social norms. Topics like the occult and the nature of power, and where we all fit into that spectrum. And in doing so, I hope to create an accepting place where curious and freedom minded individuals, like myself, might vent ideas and artwork without all the boring social pigeonholes and virtue signaling. Kind of like my very own community journal, I will present my thoughts, and you can agree or disagree in the comment section. So, if your interested, as I am, in breaking through the chains of our programming and diving into topics that don’t just reinforce biases, hit the fallow bottom and join a conversation where you will discover what is truly important in life… “You”…
Through the process of ”knowing thyself and thy enemies”.
Sound good? Good, lets dig a little deeper… And in doing so, I hope you will think of me, not just as some person on the internet, but instead that little voice in the back of your mind that challenges you. Yes, the voice that you’ve always wanted to listen to, but were afraid of. The voice your mother probably warned you about and your priest likely tried to convince you was the devil. The voice you did your best to fight, until now. The voice that is in actuality is… You guessed it. “Just you”. Forget about taking the red pill or the blue pill. In fact, forget left “or” right pills altogether. And instead, take the left “and” right pill. Take the purple pill.
Join me and together we will see how deep this rabbit hole goes.
Original Artwork
On a different note, I would like to present my most recent artwork, but with a little context first…
A short time ago I quite my job. And like most people, who quite their jobs, I quickly realized that I could only mope around for so long before I would “literally” die of boredom. So, after a few months of self-pity and watching my savings dwindle, I decided to do something with my time that might actually be enjoyable to me. I decided to go back to my roots and try being an artist again. What the hell, maybe I could even make a career out of it.
So, the next day, I decided that I would begin by honing my skills with a good photo manipulation or digital painting. I immediately started searching the creative commons for “interesting” images, (who am I kidding, searching for “free images”) that might inspire me. And, after about an hour of not being inspired by anything and nearly loosing interest, I came across this photo.
Odd I’ll admit. But behind this old photo’s grainy surface there was something that charmed me. Maybe it was my nostalgia for the past. No, that couldn’t be it. I’m the least nostalgic person I know, and I wasn’t even alive in the seventies to be nostalgic about them. That wasn't it. Maybe it was the suggestive shirt she was wearing. The shirt was definitely an eye catcher. But, no, I don’t think that was it either. In fact, I’m sure of it, there was something uniquely special about this photo. Perhaps it was her exaggerated pose or even her uniquely confident expression, accentuating her youthful aura of all importantness. In truth, perhaps I’ll never know what drew me to it.
Ether way, while working on the drawing, on and off for a few days, with little to no inspiration, my subconscious mind began to take over, attempting to make sense of the image. And suddenly, as if in a vivid dream, it came to me all at once. There were roller-skates, a racetrack, and those weird stripped socks that people used to wear in the seventies. And, that young woman stood upon the clouds with two flags in her hands.
Yes, there were lots and lots of clouds. There were even clouds that extended all the way from heaven to earth, which horses racing upon. And these horses where made of metal and rumbled like thunder across the sky. And the red half-light of the sun came together with the soft blue radiance of the moon, in that sliver of time that takes place somewhere between day and night, known as the magic hour.
There it was. I had the vision, and all I had to do now was put pen to digital paper. I know, easier said then done, right. Especially seeing how my art skills had a few years to atrophy. However, slowly but surely, the painting began to come together, the way puzzles do if you stick with them long enough. And after a convenient 1980’s style movie montage, the painting was nearly finished, and I looked upon it with complete assurance that I had, in fact, created something that I loved and...
…Hated! But, Why? It was as if I couldn’t even remember why I was creating the painting to begin with. The self-doubt began to fill me. Like an odd metaphor for my life, what was the purpose of it and all my effort? So, like all overly self-critical artist, I quit working on it with the genuine intent of never ever working on it, ever again…
However, after a few weeks of deciding that I was never going to work on that project, ever again, I decided that I was going to work on the project again. And, on that particular day, I just so happened to be listening to some economic commentary by Jeff Berwick. After about a half hour of reinforcing my anarchist biases, I heard him recommended that (literally) “everyone get on Steemit and get paid”.
I was sold! Yes, the universe had aliened. Perhaps my artwork would finally have a meaningful place to call home after all. In fact, that is probably why I quite working on it to begin with. No purpose. But, lucky for me, the art piece I was, literally, working on at that exact moment, was an art piece that already had lots of steem in it to begin with. Bonus! And what the hell, I thought I might as well add some extra steem, just for good measure. Double bonus! Just because I know how much steemians love “extra steem”. And, presto! I hope you enjoy.

Welcome to Steem @artofknow I have upvoted and sent you a tip
thanks.
Greetings artofknow, I hope you enjoy it here!
I have observed that people get upset or frustrated when they ask someone to follow them, and that doesn’t occur. There was a reason, following someone was reserved for someone whom you identified with, or you enjoyed their posts, things of that nature.
That kind of following is almost negligible now, since everyone wants to be followed no matter what they have to offer. I have found a sort of solution.
Now days, I follow whomever I comment upon; no matter what. I ask too, that they follow me; I will up vote them as well, if they provide decent content. If I don’t really appreciate their posts, I mute them. Problem solved. So I will follow you, please follow me.
FYI: you actually get more rewards if you up vote others posts, and comment/reply to your own postings. In other words, the more people you help, the more people help you.
I, @carltong, have all kinds of information on my blog, including faucets for free coin. Check my blogs out for that data, as this welcome greetings is just that, a sincere welcome to the greatest social platform on Planet Earth.
I would share two more things with you; first and foremost AVOID BITCOINSBRAIN! It is a HYIP site that stole about $1000 from me. It is a scam. Here is my take on HYIP’s.
IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT’S NOT TRUE!
I was so gullible on BitcoinsBrain, that I took all my other coins and invested them into this fund. I was still texting and sending messages a full two weeks after they quit paying me. I could not grasp that I had been ripped off.
Secondly, @jerrybanfield is perhaps the strongest Steemian on Steem today. Check his site out for a free tutorial on how to use Steem. I took it and have learned plenty.
I hope things go well for you on here and once again, WELCOME to STEEMIT!!!
Sincerely,
@carltong
